“So, what do your friends call you? Elizabeth sounds too formal for you.”
I cleared my throat and adjusted on the bench seat. “Well, my family actually calls me Elizabeth, believe it or not. It’s a family name.” Allison told me to relax and go with the flow so…I was going to relax and go with the flow for a change. A few details here and there weren’t going to kill me.
I could see the curiosity in his eyes. He wanted to ask for more, but didn’t. He let me continue.
“My students call me Professor or Dr. Filler. My colleagues call me Dr. Filler or Elizabeth.”
“Dr. Filler,” he was trying it out. “I like that. I might have a few leftover fantasies from college I need to work out this week.”
That sounded like fun. “I’ll see what I can do.”
Adam grinned.
“And my friends call me Liz or Lizzy.”
The waitress returned with our food, interrupting the almost uncomfortable examination I was receiving from Adam. “What do your friends call you? Adam seems pretty straightforward.”
“It is,” he agreed as he began cutting up his omelet. “But a select few call me AC.”
“AC,” I repeated. I didn’t like it. I could see guys calling him that, but not me. I liked Adam. It sounded seductive the way the vowel formed at the back of my throat and required the use of my diaphragm to power the word out.
“Don’t like it?” he had one eye pulled down and a grimace on his face.
“Not in the least.”
We ate in silence for a few minutes, letting the food and coffee wake us both up.
I’d told Adam a few things and it hadn’t killed me. I was really starting to warm to the idea of this fling. Adam was safe.
“So,” he said, setting his fork down and leaning back with a satisfied grin. “Let’s talk schedules.”
“Needy,” I teased.
He shrugged his shoulders. “Hey, this is all your idea. I wanted to woo you, take you out and get to know you. You want specific terms and I’ve agreed to them. So let’s talk schedules.”
His tone was serious but his eyes were light, just like the smile on his face. “Ok. Well, today is my long day, unfortunately. I have classes and consults until seven. We could meet at my place after that.”
“No,” he shook his head. “I have a better idea. You like music?”
Music? “Uh, yeah.”
“Great. My buddy is playing tonight. I can pick you up after your last class and we can grab dinner at the bar he’s playing.”
Wait. What? “I thought we were planning to go back to my place…”
“And we will,” he agreed. “But we both have to eat. We might as well have fun.” He must have seen my hesitation because he rushed on. “I promise, I want to be between your legs just as badly as you want me between your legs.”
The waitress stopped at our table to refresh our drinks. Her cheeks were red and she refused to meet my eyes. I grinned at Adam and he grinned back.
“Then why the delay? Meet me at my place, we can take care of business and then you can go see your buddy play.”
“Nope.” He shook his head and leaned forward with his elbows on the table. “I want to have some fun with you. Good friendly fun. It’ll be loud so you don’t have to worry about conversation. We’ll eat, and then we’ll head out. That way, once I get you in bed, neither of us has to leave.”
My whole body groaned. I very much liked the sound of that. “Who says I was going to let you stay?”
“You didn’t,” he replied. “But I promise to make it worth your while.”
Chapter 5
Tuesday night
The bar was elegant, dark, and relaxed. It stretched the length of the building with a collection of round tables filling the floor. Three small semi-circular booths led up to the stage on either side. A male singer with a guitar was crooning into a microphone. His voice was clear and deep and he was singing about an island somewhere.
I followed Adam through the maze of tables to the first booth on the left of the stage. It had a Reserved card sitting on the table.
So much for casual. He stood to the side, allowing me to scoot into the booth first. As I sat, I saw Adam and the singer exchange a nod.
A nervous energy crackled between us. I wondered how he managed to keep such a cool façade when I was dangling sex right in front of him. He must have amazing control. Certainly more than I had.
The waitress was making rounds so I grabbed the little flip-top menu from the middle of the table and glanced at the drink list.
“They have fifty beers on tap… if you like beer.” He was close enough that his breath danced across my skin.
We each order a local brew and I turned my attention to the singer on stage. He was engaging to watch, very charismatic, and his voice was deep, but crystal clear. He was one of those rare singers who had a truly gifted voice. He could probably sing anything. He wasn’t just following along to memorized words. He understood how the music worked.
It was too loud to talk. We drank our beers, ordered some food to split, and listened to his friend on the stage.
Adam was fun. He was relaxed and laidback, hollering at the stage between songs and drawing snickers from the crowd on more than one occasion. He gave me a few flirty glances and ran his hand up my leg more than once, but otherwise, things were just…easy.
The singer finished his last song and announced a fifteen-minute break just as the waitress arrived with our food. Adam squeezed my thigh and smiled. “What did you think of Travis?”
Travis. “He’s fantastic.”
“You don’t hate me for dragging you out?”
“Nope,” I laughed as Travis plopped into the booth beside Adam, slamming a full pitcher of beer onto the table.
“Hey AC! Glad to see you made it! Hi, I’m Travis!” He stood halfway and offered his hand.
It was obvious Travis was an entertainer through and through. “Elizabeth.” Now that he was closer I could tell he was handsome in a goofy way. Longer blonde hair, scruffy beard, and a gravely southern drawl.
“I asked the bartender what you were drinkin’ little lady, and I brought us a pitcher to share.” He refilled all our glasses. “To old friends.”
“So, what’s the story? How do you two know each other?” Travis seemed crazy and Adam was straight-laced. I was dying to know how such radically different guys became friends.
They both grinned and I could tell there were probably a hundred stories that went with those smiles. “Well,” Adam replied, taking the lead. “When I moved to town I was the outsider. All the kids around here grew up together and even though my family was from here, I didn’t have a history with these kids.”
Travis picked up the story from there. “I moved to town a few weeks earlier. Same problem. But the minute Adam walked in the door I knew we’d be friends. He was the only other tall guy at school who could care less about all these idiots,” he waved his hand around the bar at the oblivious locals.
I ate while the guys caught up. Adam talked about Germany, Travis brought him up to speed on his most recent tour of the East Coast. There was an indie record coming out, but a label was making a competitive offer.
“Well, I think you’re fantastic,” I assured him. “You have a great sound, a great voice, and a great look.”
Travis stared at me, then dramatically stood, walked across to my side of the booth and sat down, slinging his arm around my shoulder. “I like her. Dump this loser and go out with me?”
I laughed, a chicken wing dangling from my fingers. “He’s promised me sex that will blow my mind. What can you offer?”
Travis’s mouth fell open and he pressed a hand to his chest. “Fame and fortune…as soon as I hit it big.”
“No sex?”
He wiggled closer and dropped his head on my shoulder. “We can cuddle.”
I laughed harder and pushed him away. “It’s sex or no deal.”
He pushed out his lower lip and
then slid back out of the booth and moped back to Adam’s side, sitting down and dropping his head onto Adam’s shoulder instead. “Hold me. I’ve been rejected.”
Adam pushed Travis off and shook his head. “You’ll always have the stage, my friend.”
“She’s a lonely lover,” he replied wistfully. Then became serious. “How did you two meet?”
Adam glanced over at me. “We bumped into each other at a bar the other night.”
“Alone, eh. Sounds like you. Where at?”
“We were at Seychelles,” I interjected.
Travis busted out laughing. “At your mom’s joint? Did she set it up?”
Adam punched Travis in the arm. “I hadn’t mentioned that yet. Thanks.”
Travis rubbed his arm like Adam had really hurt him. “Sorry dude. Didn’t mean to step on your toes…Well, I gotta get back up there anyway. It was very nice to meet you Elizabeth.” He bowed somewhat dramatically before disappearing into a side door.
“Your mom’s joint?” I asked with raised eyebrows.
Adam shrugged. “It’s not a big deal. My mom owns a couple of restaurants around town. Seychelles was her first and it is still my favorite. I stop in every time I’m in town.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
He smiled, running his hand over my thigh. “Because we were keeping things simple.”
It was definitely simpler when I didn’t know that.
“And just so you know,” he ran his hand up the inside of my thigh, “I wasn’t there for dinner that night. I stopped in to see Mitch and have a quick drink. But when I saw you…I couldn’t leave.”
“Oh,” I gasped as his hand began to massage. “Why?”
“I had an immediate hard-on.”
And suddenly my mind was filled with my middle of the night fantasies. “Can we go back to my place now?”
Adam stopped massaging, grabbed my hand, and pulled me out of the bar.
We were only three blocks away and we ran most of it. “I can’t believe you’ve held out this long,” I gasped as we rushed up the stairs.
He yanked on my hand, pulling me around. I was two steps above him but only an inch taller. He kissed me, one hand around mine, the other tangled in the hair at the nape of my neck, holding my lips firmly against his. “I have wanted to be inside you from the moment you said hello, Elizabeth. But I needed to be sure.”
That surprised me. “Sure?”
He swallowed. His hand was still holding my head and our noses were nearly touching. He was panting. “Once isn’t going to be enough, Gorgeous. I needed to be sure this wasn’t going to be a one-night stand.” He stepped up onto the next step, bringing our bodies together. He kissed me lightly. “I’ve tasted you. I’ve made you come. And I needed to know I’d be around long enough to get my fill.”
My body ached. The longer he stood there, holding me so close, the more I needed him, too. “Two weeks,” I repeated. Two weeks of this…it made me dizzy just thinking about it.
“Two weeks.”
“Then let’s get started.”
He let me go and I turned, finishing the walk up the stairs and to my door. I could feel Adam behind me. It was like a wall of desire. His need for me was almost as erotic as my need for him. I pushed open the door and locked it behind him. “I think we should just get right to some sex, get it out of the way so we can actually enjoy each other for the rest of the night—” I barely had the words out of my mouth when Adam grabbed me, lifting me up so I could wrap my legs around his waist.
He pushed me up against the door. “Excellent idea. I like the way you think,” he gasped as he kissed and suckled my neck, all while grinding me into the door.
His body pressing against mine was more overwhelming than I’d imagined while alone in my bed that morning. He was more intense, his body was more out of control, and his hands were more insistent.
He buried his face in the crook of my neck as his hips ground against me. I ran my hands over his sculpted shoulders and hooked my fingers in his hair, tugging. He growled and grinned up at me.
“Bedroom,” I moaned and pointed over his shoulder.
He turned—without any effort at all—and stalked across my living room and into the open door. His strength and confidence were a turn-on all on their own. There was no hesitation or doubt in anything he was doing, or in the look in his dark eyes. This was a man who knew what he wanted…and he wanted me.
I grasped frantically at the cotton of his shirt. It needed to go. I needed everything preventing our bodies from melding together, gone.
He helped me, peeling the shirt over his head and then grabbing for mine. He was like candy. I wanted to touch him but knew it was borderline evil. Having a taste wouldn’t be enough, I needed the whole display.
Sure enough, as I ran my fingers over his abs and chest, a shiver rippled over my skin. I wanted to know what those shoulders and abs looked like while he was thrusting inside me. I unhooked my own bra and shoved my jeans to the floor as Adam did the same, then pushed me back onto the bed and slid over the top of me.
Skin against skin.
The contact was so overwhelming I gasped and automatically wrapped my arms and legs around his body as an anchor. It was like freefalling, only I wasn’t going anywhere. I was just getting lost in Adam.
All my fantasies came flooding back. He was finally mine for the taking. With a gentle push I directed Adam down towards my waiting breasts. They were heavy and achy after all my early morning dreaming. I needed to know, once and for all, what it felt like to have Adam’s lips on my breasts.
He responded automatically, moving to my right breast first with a grin on his lips. They were fire against my skin. My nipples tingled and my sex throbbed with anticipation.
I wanted it. I wanted him. I couldn’t take it anymore. I grabbed the base of his neck and thrust my nipple into his mouth as I squeezed my knees tighter around his waist.
I moaned as his warm tongue swirled against my erect nipple and his soft lips closed, sucking gently against my skin. Ecstasy. It felt exactly like pleasure and blissful nothingness: my favorite place to get lost and stay for as long as I could.
Adam didn’t hesitate to capitalize on my enjoyment. He leaned into my body, giving me friction to work against, his cock sliding beneath me and against the bed. I hadn’t gotten a very good look at his dick before he was on top of me, but I’d seen enough, and I could feel his erection. Adam was just about the size of the dildo I’d used that morning. He was perfect.
But for now, I was enjoying every second of finally having his mouth on my breasts. He groaned like he was in pain (good pain), thrusting his erection beneath me harder, and moved to my left breast. It tingled with anticipation just like my right breast had. I knew what it was going to feel like when his lips closed over the sensitive and waiting flesh, and yet I didn’t. The one thing I did know was that it was going to blow my mind.
This time, instead of forcing his path, I let Adam choose. And instead of going straight from the fullness of my breasts to my nipple like I made him do the first time, he took a lazy route with the tip of his tongue, tracing a trail of burning electricity along the underside of my breast, where the skin was more sensitive to everything. His hot breath mixed with the cool wetness left behind by his tongue.
I reached my arms above my head with my palms flat on the mattress, and arched, throwing my head back and thrusting my breasts up, while pressing my clit up against his flat abs, and my wet core down toward his cock.
“Are you sure you want to jump straight to fucking?” he gasped and then wrapped his mouth around my nipple.
I yelled out, squeezing my legs around him and clutching at his head with a hand that had wildly reached forward to hold his head in place.
I was on fire. I never wanted to stop feeling exactly how I felt right then, and yet I wanted it all. I wanted him buried inside me. I wanted his mouth on my breasts with his hands everywhere. I wanted to come hard—over and over unti
l I was senseless—and yet I wanted nothing to change.
But my sex throbbed and his cock kicked like it could feel the heat and wetness just out of its reach. “If you don’t get that gorgeous cock inside me right now, all bets are off.”
He grinned, a full megawatt smile, and raked his teeth over my nipple, pulling until it popped free. “This is going to be the best vacation I’ve ever had.”
For both of us.
Then he hopped up and found his jeans, pulling out a condom. “I’m clean, by the way. I’ve been tested, always use a condom, the whole nine yards.”
“Good little boy scout,” I murmured as I pushed up on my elbows and spread my legs. The ache to have him inside me actually hurt.
Adam shuddered and rolled a little faster.
I grinned. “I’m clean, on birth control, and always use a condom.”
“Girl scout,” he winked. “You ready for me?”
“I’ve been ready since you sat down at the bar.” Which was true. I’d reacted to him strongly from the moment I’d first laid eyes on him. I wanted him so badly I was willing to risk complications. Hell, I was even willing to become his friend.
That was a pretty powerful reaction in my world.
Adam moved carefully over top of me, holding his body just barely over mine, positioning his erection against me. The moment his cock made contact against my sex he grunted. “Oh god, you feel as good as you taste.”
I didn’t know how Adam tasted yet, but he certainly felt as good as I’d fantasized with my toy. Actually, he felt better because this wasn’t a fantasy—this was real. His body was pushing against mine, his arms were brushing along my skin, and his lips were everywhere. His cock was firmer, yet softer than what I’d used on myself. There wasn’t any of that cold resistance of plastic or the uncontrollable flexibility of silicone. Adam was real.
He pushed inside, just a little. He was going slowly at first, probably from past experience with women who couldn’t handle a man of his size. But I wasn’t most women. I was needy and desperate. If I didn’t get him inside me soon I was going to go insane.
